The congress will take place from 19–23 September 2027 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, Cape Town, South Africa, bringing together researchers, educators, students, and industry professionals from around the world.

We are pleased to share an exciting opportunity for early-career researchers to participate in the IUBMB Young Scientist Programme (YSP) 2027 (Young Scientist Programme 2027 | 27th IUBMB FASBMB SASBMB Congress), which will be held in Stellenbosch, South Africa, from 17–19 September 2027, immediately before the 27th IUBMB/FASBMB/SASBMB Congress in Cape Town (19–23 September 2027).

The Young Scientist Programme is designed to empower the next generation of biochemists and molecular biologists by providing opportunities to:

• Learn from internationally recognised scientists and leaders in the field.
• Connect with peers from around the world and build lasting professional collaborations.
• Present your research in a supportive and inclusive environment while receiving valuable feedback.
• Develop your skills through workshops, training sessions, and career development activities.
• Be inspired by joining a diverse community of emerging scientists committed to advancing the life sciences.

Applications are open to:

• Registered PhD candidates, and
• Early-career scientists who are within 10 years of receiving their PhD (at the start of the Young Scientist Programme).
• You must be a society member
